Music Scholars’ Concert

Body

The music scholars' concert seeks to provide an excellent opportunity for the potential music scholars to perform their audition repertoire in front of a supportive audience in the days and weeks before their auditions take place.

The audience was treated to a feast of a large range of instruments and repertoire and were able to delight in the joy and quality of the six music scholars’ playing at their recent evening concert. Instruments included piano, harp, viola, violin, clarinet, voice, percussion, horn, bassoon and trumpet.

Director of Music, Mr Simon Kirk explained, “There is no doubt that this is a useful experience for our young musicians each year, as there is always much to commend and much with which to be pleased; where small parts were not quite as fluent or polished or expressive as they might have been, the children now have a clear agenda for their practice in these last few days and weeks.”
